30 days of reading, hearing, and speaking God’s truth into our lives; I will Follow!

Welcome to day 30, our last day together.

Thank you all so much for being part of this journey. My spirit has been renewed, my hunger intensified, and excitement restored. I have once again been reminded that His mercies are new every morning! My hope is that you feel the same!

Today’s topic is more of an action, a commitment…….

I will Follow…..

Our time is our greatest commodity. We only have so much. It cannot be purchased. Once it is spent, it is gone. My biggest fear in life, is to look back and see that I misused it, wasted it. My biggest fear in life, is to regret having the courage to say YES to Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life! He is worthy of our YES!

There is no greater reward than Him. Therefore, the best decision we can make in regards to our greatest asset; time, is to give it to Him.

Verse of the day!

Matthew 16:24

As we spend time with our Savior, He changes us. He begins to lead us, giving us opportunities big and small, to say YES.

When I look at the many heroic men of the bible, they all have one thing in common. They ALL said YES! They all chose to follow God’s lead. These men made the decision to exercise their faith, to trust not in the seen, but the unseen.

Victory and blessing in our lives always points back to obedience to God.

The Bible says,

and you return to the LORD your God and obey Him with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons (Deuteronomy 30:2).

Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers; if you obey the LORD your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and soul (Deuteronomy 30:9-10).

God longs to pour out His blessing on us. He looks for those of us who are willing. His desire is to bless His people, set us apart. He is looking to use any willing vessel (you and me), to be witnesses to the world of who HE is. He wants to demonstrate to the world through his people that He is the ONLY MOST HIGH GOD. His purpose is to bring his lost creation back to Himself. He does this everyday through those that are willing.

God created Adam and Eve for His pleasure. He blessed them abundantly. It was their disobedience that brought about sin. Which tells us, that obedience is very important to Him. And without it, we too, will fall prey to sin.

Just a few of the men that were not perfect, but followed God’s lead!

Moses, Joseph, Joshua, Noah, Solomon, Esther, Abraham, Jacob and many more.

God longs us to bless us! His greatest desire is to teach us, change us, and help us say Yes to all the things He has purposed for our lives!

Join me in saying YES! Join me in praying that God would help us BE ALL that created us to be!

Thanks again dear friends for being here the last 30 days! You have been a blessing to me!

30 days of reading, hearing, and speaking God’s truth into our lives; pursuit.

Welcome to day 27!

Yesterday we talked about blessing. Jesus blesses us, we bless others, and the blessing comes back. Our hope is that as we bless others, they get a glimpse of Christ’s goodness,  and enter into a deeper relationship with Him. As they become changed the blessing flows out, and God’s blessing never stops!

We get to be part of the growth, God’s eternal plan for man! How exciting! It’s the greatest work that can be done, and the main reason we are here on this earth!

Today I want to talk about…..

I want to look at blessing in the light of God’s pursuit for us! We are blessed because He pursues us. We pursue others because He first pursued us. Lastly, let’s look at who Christ loved (pursued), and who He desire us to love!

Verse of the day!

Luke 15:4

My thoughts today come from Luke chapter 15: 1-10. This is so good! I encourage to read it!

If you were the only one standing on earth, Christ would have died for you! Jesus doesn’t pursue us because we do everything right. He doesn’t seek after us because we have properly repented from our sins and we recognize that we need Him (although that is a vital part of our relationship with Him). Rather, He searches for me and you because we are His. He loves us, and wants us to live forever with Him.

We are the lost sheep, each one of us. It doesn’t matter how battered or torn we are. It doesn’t matter what we have done. He still seeks us out, just as the shepherd looks for the lost sheep!

We do not repent in order that God may love us, but He reveals to us His love in order that we might repent. (Steps to Christ, pg. 188)

Christ looks for us; beckons us to Him when are broken, ugly, and lost. He brings us back to the fold. Then He restores us. As He changes us, who does He ask us to search for? The lost, and the broken, just like you and me.

It’s easy to go to church every week and listen to great message. It’s easy to encourage and be there for those that we invite into our lives because we enjoy them.

But as I look at Christ’s life here on earth, I see a common theme. He constantly disadvantaged Himself for the advantage of others. Serving others is not always easy or convenient, but He did it. He desire to change us, so that we too have that desire!

The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me ( Matthew 25:45).

The Lord keeps placing this verse on my heart. This is the change I desire, the change I’m asking for. This is what I believe Jesus desires for us all!

Together let’s lift each other up in prayer, and pray that God would change us, make us more like Him, and daily reveal to us how we can love the least of these. For that is exactly what He has done for us!

Thinking of, & praying for you all,

I encourage you to keep pressing in dear friends! Music, God’s word, journaling, and talking with Him and others about Him is how we grow and stay connected!

Bless your friends and family with this post! PIN IT!

30 days of reading, hearing, and speaking God’s truth; Blessing!

Welcome to day 26!

Blessing……more specifically, blessing others!

I am so excited to talk about this topic and look at some quotes and scriptures with you! In the begging of this journey I shared with you that I had become a little complacent in my walk with Jesus! Together we have made that change, by showing up at His feet and asking for more!

I have also felt the Lord asking me to reach out and bless others with my time and service. This is something the Lord has been placing on my heart for a while now.

What have I done about it?…….given it a bit of thought…….only to make excuses, like: I am a  mom, I have a two year old, there’s not enough time.

But now is the time for me to say YES, to what God is placing on my heart! I don’t have to commit every night of my week. I can start with one day a month or 2 days a month to give to another my time, my service!  This is what the Lord has been placing on my heart. He may be speaking to you about something different. Whatever that is…….

My hope is that you will do the same! Say YES! What has God been placing on your heart that you want to do, but have been a bit hesitant about?

Verse of the day!

Together, let’s look at two quotes by others that have experienced the blessing of blessing others!

“The greatest blessing in the whole world is being a blessing.”  Jack Hyles

“God blesses us, so that we might bless others.” Charles Stanley

The 4 laws of God’s blessing by Rick Warren! Read his full thought here!

1. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing (Genesis 12:2).

This is the first law of lesson, it must flow outwardly.

2. So He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life (Luke 18: 29-30).

When we bless others, God takes care of our needs.

3. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you (Luke 6:38).

Our blessings to others will come back to us.

4. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked (Luke 12:48).

The more we are blessed by God, the more he expects us to bless others.

It’s so exciting to know that God has specific plans for the blessings He gives us! Together, let’s pray that He would show us how He wants us to share the blessing so it keeps on blessing!

Instead of a song of the day, I want to encourage you to continue in your quiet time with Jesus! Prayer, reading, or pen and paper. Journaling has been such a blessing to me! Any of those are great!

If this has been a blessing to you and you want to share it with others, you can PIN IT!

30 days of reading, hearing, and speaking God’s truth into our lives; God’s gifts.

Welcome to day 24!

Gods gifts…….

Let’s jump on in! Verse of the day!

2 Corinthians 3:5

Oh man you guys, I am so excited about today’s topic! Today, I want to share a quote. This one thrills my heart! Here’s why………

As we get to know Christ and become more like Him we discover our true identity. He reveals to us the person He created us to be; the gifts He has given us. In Christ we are a new being, the old person begins to fade. The things the world has told us about ourselves melts away in light of who we are in Christ. We become what we behold. As we behold Christ our true identity is revealed because we were created to bear His image, not that of the world.

If we truly want to know ourselves, our gifts, our specific purpose and identity, it is found in Christ alone!

All the scriptures we are going to look at today tell us, that the God we serve is an intimate God. These verses show us that He cares for you in me in a very specific way. He created us unique, special, and for a purpose!

God’s word says,

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13).

It doesn’t get more intimate than that!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

This verse tells me God is specific!

Romans 12 tell us that we are all given special gifts!

For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,  so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.  Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;  he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Why does God give each one of us special gifts?

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all ( 1 Corinthians 12:7).

Christ draws us, changes us, and reveals to us our true identity in Him. He asks,

As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God (1 Peter 4:10).

There is no greater adventure than to find our true identity in Christ. There is nothing more thrilling to man’s heart, than to let God lead.

One of my favorite promises!

In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:6).

Together, let’s press in. Let’s sit quietly before the Lord. He longs to reveal Himself. He longs to fill us up!

30 Days of Reading, Hearing, and Speaking God’s truth into our lives; God call us!

Welcome to day 23! This is where it gets good guys! There is no greater privilege and honor than to be used by God to enlarge His Kingdom, cheer one up, and love on another!

God calls us……..verse of the day!

Matthew 4:19

When we are willing, God uses the love bestowed on us. He uses us as conduits to pour His great love out onto the lives of others. He does this in many ways, in many countries, and through many people. If you are willing and available, He will use YOU! An you will be blessed because of it!

What did Christ come give us to share with others?

The Gospel story, which is the news that God has entered the world in Jesus Christ to achieve a salvation that we could not achieve for ourselves. The good news of Jesus is capable of transforming everything in a person, their community, and their world! (The Gospel Primer)

Let’s take a peek at who Christ called to share His Gospel story!

The twelve disciples were mainly fishermen, and a tax collector. He called them to share His message to the world. That same message is still alive, and  He desires that each heart that believes will participate in sharing!

Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father ( John 14:12).

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come (Matthew 24:14).

Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples (Psalm 96:3).

And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15).

I love this chapter Mark 5, Here Christ meets a man possessed by demons, sets him free, and then what does He tell him? This man that was set free wanted to stay with Christ, but Christ said,

Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”

I love this story, because sometimes we think we don’t know God’s word enough. We feel ill equipped or inadequate to share the Gospel with others. However, here in this story you see that Jesus said go and share with those you know what Christ has done for you! This was a demon possessed man, crazy!

It is so exciting to me that we get to be a part of Christ’s work by making ourselves available to Jesus and how He wants to use us! He desires for us to share with those around us what Christ has done for us. As we continue to come He will grow our faith and enlighten our minds to the truth of God’s word.

We don’t have to be Bible scholars, we just have to open to sharing! God calls us to plant seeds, His power grows those seeds planted.

We all get to be a part of sharing the amazing and transnational Gospel story!

Instead of a song, I would love for us to pray, and perhaps journal the things that the Lord is speaking to our heart! Let’s sit in quietness and let Him fill us up & speak to our hearts!
