30 DAYS OF READING, HEARING & SPEAKING GODS TRUTH; I WILL FOLLOW, DAY 30

30 days of reading, hearing, and speaking God’s truth into our lives; I will Follow!

Welcome to day 30, our last day together.

Thank you all so much for being part of this journey. My spirit has been renewed, my hunger intensified, and excitement restored. I have once again been reminded that His mercies are new every morning! My hope is that you feel the same!

Today’s topic is more of an action, a commitment…….

I will Follow…..

Our time is our greatest commodity. We only have so much. It cannot be purchased. Once it is spent, it is gone. My biggest fear in life, is to look back and see that I misused it, wasted it. My biggest fear in life, is to regret having the courage to say YES to Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life! He is worthy of our YES!

There is no greater reward than Him. Therefore, the best decision we can make in regards to our greatest asset; time, is to give it to Him.

Verse of the day!

Matthew 16:24

As we spend time with our Savior, He changes us. He begins to lead us, giving us opportunities big and small, to say YES.

When I look at the many heroic men of the bible, they all have one thing in common. They ALL said YES! They all chose to follow God’s lead. These men made the decision to exercise their faith, to trust not in the seen, but the unseen.

Victory and blessing in our lives always points back to obedience to God.

The Bible says,

and you return to the LORD your God and obey Him with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons (Deuteronomy 30:2).

Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers; if you obey the LORD your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and soul (Deuteronomy 30:9-10).

God longs to pour out His blessing on us. He looks for those of us who are willing. His desire is to bless His people, set us apart. He is looking to use any willing vessel (you and me), to be witnesses to the world of who HE is. He wants to demonstrate to the world through his people that He is the ONLY MOST HIGH GOD. His purpose is to bring his lost creation back to Himself. He does this everyday through those that are willing.

God created Adam and Eve for His pleasure. He blessed them abundantly. It was their disobedience that brought about sin. Which tells us, that obedience is very important to Him. And without it, we too, will fall prey to sin.

Just a few of the men that were not perfect, but followed God’s lead!

Moses, Joseph, Joshua, Noah, Solomon, Esther, Abraham, Jacob and many more.

God longs us to bless us! His greatest desire is to teach us, change us, and help us say Yes to all the things He has purposed for our lives!

Join me in saying YES! Join me in praying that God would help us BE ALL that created us to be!

Thanks again dear friends for being here the last 30 days! You have been a blessing to me!

30 DAYS OF READING, HEARING & SPEAKING GODS TRUTH: HOPE, DAY 29

30 days of reading, hearing, and speaking truth into our lives; hope.

Welcome to day 29!

Hope…..don’t ever loose it. Cling to it! Let it fuel your faith always!

This is a special word, a feeling inside that keeps us pressing on. Hope really is a prerequisite to our faith. Without hope, what need would we have for our faith. Still, without faith, there would be no hope.

Verse of the day!

bible verse

As I think about what I want to leave with you, something that provides great impact, HOPE comes to mind. Although we are claiming with complete confidence, BLESSING this year in our lives! Reality is, we will have some bad days. Days when we feel weathered, stretched, and a little hopeless.

But that’s ok. Because we know that we live in a broken world. It would be silly to have any other expectation. There is no escaping the sin of this world until Jesus comes and we meet Him in the clouds of glory! (Oh, how I look forward to that day!). Until then, it is an impossibility for our lives and those around us to be void of sin.

However, what we do have, is Jesus! We have the absolute unwavering Hope in who He is, and what He did for us on the cross, and does for us daily! Together we can take our God given hope and cling to Jesus by exercising our faith. In Him, no matter what comes our way, we will be victors!

We may find ourselves in some storms this coming year, but we will weather them victoriously because of the one that stands by us, lives in us, and holds us up with His mighty hand.

Together let’s look at some of God’s promises that we tuck in our hearts for those rainy days,

No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their vindication is from Me, declares the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing (James 1: 2-4).

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8: 37-39).

Jesus is our blessing, as long as we have Him we can withstand anything and come out triumphantly blessed!

Together let’s claim blessing & victory! In Christ Jesus, we are conquerors. Nothing can stop us from His best and His blessing if we keep saying YES to Him. Together, let’s continue pressing in, following His lead, and leaving the consequences of our obedience up to Him.

Because that is the very heart of blessing!

Missy

30 DAYS OF READING, HEARING & SPEAKING GODS TRUTH; COURAGE, DAY 28

30 days of reading, hearing, and speaking God’s truth into our lives; courage!

Welcome to day 28!

I am so excited about today’s topic, COURAGE…….

As we are nearing the end of our journey, I want to encourage us all to be courageous, especially for Jesus! Over the last few weeks you have received lots of my thoughts, but today want to share a fresh perspective!

This is so good I had to pass it on to you! These thoughts and the Lion-Chaser’s Manifesto are not my own. They come from Mark Batterson, author of In A Pit With A Lion On A Snowy Day. You can learn more about him, his work, and books here! Another great read!

COURAGEOUSLY CHASING LIONS

His thought comes from 2 Samuel 23:20-23. Benaniah’s life is summed up in three scriptures. These three scriptures tell us enough to know that He was courageous. He didn’t run, but chased a Lion!

I love the idea of chasing lions, because it’s scary, a bit crazy, and for sure uncomfortable. I think it is safe to say, chasing lions is way out of all our comfort zones. Right? However, as I look back on my life, some of my biggest regrets are the things I ran from because I didn’t have enough courage. This story and Batterson’s thoughts on chasing Lions really spoke to me, which is why I am sharing it with you!

A bit from his book, GUTSINESS AND GODLINESS

This may not sound very academic, but I believe that one of the most under-appreciated dimensions of spiritual maturity is good old-fashioned guts. Gutsiness, which manifests in different ways, is a big part of following Christ. It’s challenging the status quo. Daring to be different. Refusing to play things safe. Think about it: no one was more gutsy than Jesus. He wasn’t afraid of offending powerful religious leaders. He defied social mores by reaching out to touch lepers-some of society’s  most reviled outcasts-and restored their dignity. Unconcerned about His reputation, He boldly befriended and defended prostitutes, tax collectors, and outsiders who came to Him looking for a new life.

It takes courage to step out in faith. It take courage to say YES to Jesus. The things He places on our hearts and calls us to do are not always easy. Not always comfortable. They require trust. They require great courage!

A Lion-Chaser’s MANIFESTO, by Mark Batterson.

  1. I WILL quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death.
  2. I WILL quit focusing on self-preservation and be willing to take risks.
  3. I WILL quit trying to be who I’m not and start being myself.
  4. I WILL quit holding out or holding back.
  5. I WILL quit running away.
  6. I WILL burn new bridges and blaze new trails.
  7. I WILL NOT let what’s wrong with me keep me from worshiping what’s right about God.
  8. I WILL go after the dream He’s given me that’s “God-sized” enough to fail without Him.
  9. I WILL stop complaining and find creative ways to become part of the solution.
  10. I WILL step out of my comfort zone and value every experience-even the difficult ones.
  11. I WILL worry less about what people think and more about what God thinks.
  12. I WILL follow Him wherever He leads me.

AMAZINGNESS, RIGHT!

Dear friends together let’s live bold lives for ourselves, those closest to us, & mostly for our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Thinking of you all & praying that God would not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind!

30 DAYS OF READING, HEARING & SPEAKING GODS TRUTH; PURSUIT, DAY 27

30 days of reading, hearing, and speaking God’s truth into our lives; pursuit.

Welcome to day 27!

Yesterday we talked about blessing. Jesus blesses us, we bless others, and the blessing comes back. Our hope is that as we bless others, they get a glimpse of Christ’s goodness,  and enter into a deeper relationship with Him. As they become changed the blessing flows out, and God’s blessing never stops!

We get to be part of the growth, God’s eternal plan for man! How exciting! It’s the greatest work that can be done, and the main reason we are here on this earth!

Today I want to talk about…..

Pursuit……

I want to look at blessing in the light of God’s pursuit for us! We are blessed because He pursues us. We pursue others because He first pursued us. Lastly, let’s look at who Christ loved (pursued), and who He desire us to love!

Verse of the day!

Luke 15:4

My thoughts today come from Luke chapter 15: 1-10. This is so good! I encourage to read it!

If you were the only one standing on earth, Christ would have died for you! Jesus doesn’t pursue us because we do everything right. He doesn’t seek after us because we have properly repented from our sins and we recognize that we need Him (although that is a vital part of our relationship with Him). Rather, He searches for me and you because we are His. He loves us, and wants us to live forever with Him.

We are the lost sheep, each one of us. It doesn’t matter how battered or torn we are. It doesn’t matter what we have done. He still seeks us out, just as the shepherd looks for the lost sheep!

We do not repent in order that God may love us, but He reveals to us His love in order that we might repent. (Steps to Christ, pg. 188)

Christ looks for us; beckons us to Him when are broken, ugly, and lost. He brings us back to the fold. Then He restores us. As He changes us, who does He ask us to search for? The lost, and the broken, just like you and me.

It’s easy to go to church every week and listen to great message. It’s easy to encourage and be there for those that we invite into our lives because we enjoy them.

But as I look at Christ’s life here on earth, I see a common theme. He constantly disadvantaged Himself for the advantage of others. Serving others is not always easy or convenient, but He did it. He desire to change us, so that we too have that desire!

The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me ( Matthew 25:45).

The Lord keeps placing this verse on my heart. This is the change I desire, the change I’m asking for. This is what I believe Jesus desires for us all!

Together let’s lift each other up in prayer, and pray that God would change us, make us more like Him, and daily reveal to us how we can love the least of these. For that is exactly what He has done for us!

Thinking of, & praying for you all,

Missy

I encourage you to keep pressing in dear friends! Music, God’s word, journaling, and talking with Him and others about Him is how we grow and stay connected!

Bless your friends and family with this post! PIN IT!

30 DAYS OF READING, HEARING & SPEAKING GODS TRUTH; PRAYER, DAY 25

30 days of reading, hearing, and speaking God’s truth into our lives; prayer.

Welcome to day 25!

This is a topic that will bless you! There is so much power in prayer! When we come to the Father and ask, He is faithful! When we come to the Father and praise Him our spirits are lifted!  As we give thanks for all He is and does, it puts a smile on our face and deep love in our hearts!

Prayer…….

Today I want to look at some verses on prayer, when to pray, and one of my favorite prayers in the Bible!

Verse of the day!

BIBLE VERSE

What a beautiful thing it is, to know that we can come to the Christ in open communication any time we want to!

The Bible says,

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you (Jeremiah 29:12).

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them (Mark 11:24).

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him (1 John 5:14).

I read about men like John Wesley and Martin Luther. They would prayer for hours in the morning. What a blessing that must of been to them. What an honor to spend that kind of time in prayer each day before the Lord.

Although prayer can look like that, it doesn’t have to. We can enter into prayer with Jesus anytime & anywhere! Together let’s look at when we can pray! And then we close with a few prayers in the Bible!

When is a good time to pray? According to the verse above, continuously!

  • when we exercise
  • while driving
  • standing in line
  • the moment our eyes open, ask God to go before you, and guide your day!
  • before bed, thank Him for another day and all the blessings!
  • waiting at the Doctor’s office
  • while you clean

We can fill our day with communication with the Lord. He desires for us to talk with Him like a friend, all day long, and about everything!

There are many prayers you can pray. You pray the Psalms, Scriptures, or the Lord’s prayer. Today I share with you one of my favorites!

The Prayer of Jabez!

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request ( 1 Chronicles 4:10).

Keep sending up those prayers, keep asking, be sure to keep those line of communication open. The Lord loves to hear your voice!

Love you all, & praying for you!

xoxoxoxox,

Missy

Together let’s spend quiet time alone with our Savior, learn to listen to still small voice. Let’s think on Him, and how awesome He is!
